Public transport & getting around
Bucharest has a dense public transport network: the Metrorex metro, together with the STB surface network of buses, trams and trolleybuses, covers the whole city. The metro is the quickest way to move around the centre; tickets and travel passes are sold in every station, and contactless bank cards are accepted directly at the gates.
For door-to-door journeys, the Uber and Bolt ride-hailing apps operate throughout Bucharest and are the most convenient way to get around.
Cards & payments
Most vendors, shops and venues in the city accept all major credit cards; contactless payment is the norm.
