The Congress welcomes proposals on any topic in the academic study of religions, with special attention to papers engaging with the Congress theme: religions — and their scholars — at the centre of knowledge.

Registration is open from 22 April to 31 July 2026. All presenters must register separately from their submission. Early registration is strongly encouraged.

Cancellation policy: Full refund for cancellations received before 30 June 2026. No refund after 30 June 2026 or for no-show.
EASR Bursaries
As for previous EASR conferences, the EASR Committee will offer several bursaries for younger scholars. These cover part or all of the registration fee and, in some cases, travel and accommodation costs. For eligibility criteria, application deadlines, and the full guidelines, please visit the EASR bursaries page.
SHR Bursaries
The Society for the History of Religions (SHR) will offer additional bursaries for SHR members coming from outside Bucharest or from other European institutions.
Participants from low-income countries that are IAHR members also benefit from a 50% fee discount.

Students, PhD candidates, researchers, and professors wishing to register may do so for free at the venue (Faculty of Law, starting September 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM) by presenting any personal document or link serving as proof of status.

Visa & Invitation Letters
Participants requiring a visa to enter Romania may request an official letter of invitation from the Congress Committee. This letter is provided for visa purposes only and does not imply financial support from the organizers.
Romania is a member of the European Union. Citizens of EU/EEA countries do not require a visa. For other nationalities, please check the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for visa requirements.
